Fabulous Murano glass table lamp. It is attributed to the Maestro Tagliapietra and produced with the straight filigree technique. The execution of this technique testifies to the artistic ability of Maestro Furlan, a man who was not lacking in character. The filigree is associated with the magic of the Murano furnaces. Watermelon glass consists of colored glass chopsticks that are arranged parallelly over the incandescent glass mass which has been rounded on the Magiosso. The invention of the filigree dates back to the Roman era but the Venetians will bring it to the highest levels of refinement in 1500. It represents one of the main techniques and types of processing of the glass perfected by the Venetians who testifies to the mercantile genius of that city. Ideal on a table to illuminate a corner of the room. Dimensions: total alt 65 cm – maximum width 39 cm
