This antique traditional Agra rug has an all-over floral pattern, uniquely resembling Polonaise rug designs of the 17th century. From 1880-1900, this Agra is one among a family made by during British influence in India, mixing English and Indian wool with higher quality yarn. Commonly referred to as a jail rug, the center symmetry of its main floral emblem has an almost medallion style, surrounded by rich burgundy, light gold, and black. Though this piece is product of British admiration for Oriental rugs, unlike Persian counterparts with 16-25 colors this piece features a rare minimalist color scheme in the regal design. Quick and easy to clean.
