An very important and rare pair of Baccarat Chinoiserie vases on original Baccarat gilt bronze stands -in fabulous condition for their age. The vases are in the Baccarat classic pale orange/yellow lead crystal and enamelled in polychrome and gilded decoration representing cherry tree branches with flowers against a golden full moon. This is possible Baccarat’s most famous and most documented pattern, It is even known that it was designed by Eugene Rousseau and it is called ‘Clair de Lune’. They are on high quality original gilt bronze Baccarat four footed mounts. Amazingly each vase is signed four times, once on the inside of each foot, the tiny signatures are impressed on the inside of the feet (Baccarat in a circle with a wine bottle and glasses) -due to the age some of the signatures are hard to read -but some can be seen quite easily -please see the pictures.
