A stunning Arts & Crafts three handled hourglass shaped vase attributed to Linthorpe and in the manner of Christopher Dresser (British, 1834 – 1904) dating from around 1880. The vase stands on a flat glazed base and comprises of two rounded sections with a narrow join in between and with three scrolling handles applied around the upper body. The vase is decorated in streaked blue/green glazes with elements of lustre and similar in color to those used at Linthorpe with the inner vase decorated in pale green streak glazes. The vase is finely made in a red terracotta type earthenware and the glazes have run down over the base creating raised elements around the edges which have been ground down and probably concealing any makers marks.
In good condition with some light surface wear.
