Hand crafted from mahogany Sutherland Tables are a 19th Century Victorian invention of a much smaller gateleg table design
The design was first created in circa 1850, almost exactly one hundred years after the making of the similar Pembroke table which also had leaves and a drop leaf mechanism
The piece is named after Harriet, the Duchess of Sutherland (1806 to 1868) and they became very popular in the late 19th century
Bought from a house call at a private residence in London’s Belgravia
Offered in great condition ready for home use right away
