We are delighted to this very rare and extremely good looking French 19th century mahogany with marble top and brass gallery rail Semainier lingerie chest of drawers

This French 19th century Louis XVI-style seminar, or lingerie chest, circa 1880, is from France and features a white marble top with brass gallery over a bank of seven drawers, each with brass bail handles, all flanked by gilt-reeded sides. The whole chest is raised on turned and tapering notched legs with brass collars and brass toupie feet. This lingerie chest would be the perfect functional accent for any dressing space!

In a modern context is would be classed as a tall boy, because of the elegant nature of the piece it really can be used in any room

We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be normal age related patina marks all-over

Two Door French Wedding Armoire/Wardrobe, circa 1880

The French custom of a father’s gift to his newborn daughter was the crafting or purchase of an armoire carved with symbols of plenty and happiness, which stored her trousseau to use in her own home once she married. This beautifully carved, two-door, wedding armoire features grapes, flowers, foliage, and harps. The sides have raised panels. Cabriole and block legs support the armoire. At one time, the interior of the armoire had shelves, but most of them have been replaced with a bar for hanging clothing below the top shelf. The original hardware includes large hinges and a decorative escutcheon.
