A truly special sideboard custom made in California by artisan furniture company ParishCo. Chevron door fronts and smooth mitered plank top provides closed storage for a living or dining room. Interior shelves and drawers keep entertaining pieces tidy and out of sight. The scale lends itself nicely to serve as a bar on top. This item is new with a retail price of 17,000—it is exceptional quality and in beautiful condition.

Pair of lovely antique French Louis XV inlaid night stands, bedside tables or side tables with intricate marquetry in the classic Louis XV style. The subtle contours and scroll forms are evident in the cornerposts and legs, supporting serpentine sides and an exquisite front and top facade: walnut and fruitwood veneers with grain patterns oriented for visual appeal cover each side to create exquisite renderings of floral bouquets and sprays, complete with the finest of French bordering. The gracefully contoured front legs are adorned with brass mounts at the feet, with brass drawer pulls on the facade of the three drawers with dovetailed joints. Each piece has a custom removable/optional glass top (one of the pieces of glass has a few very small scratches (see photos).

Vintage 1950’s Midcentury Modern night stand for sale. Has a white lacquer finish with gold legs and a brass knob with a brass diamond detail on the drawer. It’s solid and well made, and has the drawer dovetailed on both ends. It has an open shelf. The legs are tapered in classic Mid-century Modern style. The piece shows vintage wear as shown in the images. The top is white Formica. It’s been attributed to Basic Witz.

Whether you are a serious antique collector or simply have an eye for exemplary furniture, everyone can appreciate the beauty of this sideboard. Fayatteville sideboards are rare and their simple, refined elegance make them a highly sought after form.

Made between 1810-1820 in the Upper Cape Fear/Fayatteville North Carolina area, this piece is all old-growth walnut and has original yellow pine secondary wood/glue blocks. Measuring 57.75 inches wide, it’s wonderful size is even daintier than other known examples from this region. The diminutive scale, rectangular form with two central doors flanked by double door cupboards, and twice-pegged joints are all indicative of Fayatteville work. The inlay on this piece is incredible. The delicate string inlay on the drawers, the prominent linen fold inlay bookending each cupboard, the subtle block inlay along the bottom edge, and the inlaid cuffs on the feet all combine to create an elegant whole.

This sideboard is a clear match to the archetypal example illustrated in “The Furniture of Coastal North Carolina, 1700-1820” by John Bivins, Jr. Also, there are two other documented examples in the Maine Antique Digest within the last 15 years, both priced higher than how we have priced this piece. We are happy to provide all this documentation upon request as Chairish limits the number of photos that can be included in the listing.

This sideboard is one of those pieces that is hard to part with. As we took the pictures, it was so easy to imagine it staying in our home. It becomes the focal point of any room, and its hard to stop staring at it. For that reason, we hope this piece goes to a home where its magnificence and value are appreciated!
