This fine Dutch silver tea caddy has a navette shaped oval form.
The surface of this antique silver tea caddy is embellished with embossed panels depicting figures at leisure in rural settings.
Each panel is ornamented with a scroll and floral border accented with stylized leaf and figural motif to the center top.
The lower portion of the body and rim of the cover are further embellished with a swag decorated border accented with a stylized floral motif.
The surface of the concaved hinged cover is ornamented with an embossed scene depicting a figure on a horse situated in a grassed area before a village.
The cover is surmounted by an impressive paneled drop shaped silver finial.
Condition
This antique silver tea caddy is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the tea caddy are all very clear.
