This is a game table made in England, circa 1870. The table is made of walnut and burr walnut. The top has a fabulous quality cut of the finest burr walnut. The 4 sides of the top are all beautifully and deeply hand carved. The top spins to reveal storage for game pieces, cards, etc. The top then folds over to reveal a green baize covered surface for playing games and cards on. The top is supported by a double pedestal base with fantastic quality turned and hand carved pedestals with hand carved Queen Anne Legs. A well turned and hand carved stretcher goes between the 2 pedestals for added strength and support. The table is completely finished and carved on all 4 sides. The finish and physical condition are wonderful. The measurements of the table closed is 39 in. wide x 19 in. deep x 28 3/4 tall. Opened the table measures 39 in. wide x 37 in. deep x 28 1/2 in. tall.
