A fabulous quality 19th Century French plum pudding mahogany and brass bed in the Neoclassical style, the tall headboard having a shaped and reeded top with ormolu decoration, the sides in the same manor as the top but with canted corners,the large panelled front showing the wonderful figuration of the plum pudding mahogany, circular ormolu patraes with a highly decorative ormolu mount at the centre incorporating a large circular plaque depicting a scene with two figures and two cherubs, the foot board is in exactly the same style as the headboard but with ormolu moulding at the bottom, this same ormolu moulding is on the two side rails, supported on four short turn feet. Circa 1880.
