A good antique 19th century Japanese Imari porcelain pottery lidded ginger jar/vase, circa 1890.
The dome topped lid decorated with a Komainu finial (Japanese lion-dog temple guardian). The ovoid shaped vase and cover are both finely hand decorated in underglaze blue and heightend in red and gilt and having an allover floral design.
Comndition is excellent.
