A very fine antique French Louis XV style, circular tilt-top marquetry pedestal tripod table, with gilt bronze ormolu mounts, attributed to Joseph Cremer circa 1870.
The round rosewood table top is sumptuously inlaid with many specimen woods, the outside band of inlay having dragons joined at the tail and punctuated with flowering tazas. The next band of inlay is of flowers and foliate and the central panel of inlay is a lavish bouquet of flowers. The table can be horizontal or vertical when not in use and snap locks onto the pedestal with a brass locking lever. The pedestal base is formed of three turned columns decorated with gilt-bronze bellflower appliques, to the center is a large cast gilt-bronze finial modelled with fruit and foliate. The table is raised on a tripod base with gilt-bronze star shaped appliques and floral gilt-bronze mounts to the legs and scrolled feet.
Condition is very good indeed, the marquetry and gilt-bronze mounts are of the highest quality. Bloomsbury Fine Art & Antiques ship both domestically and globally, if we have your location or zip code we may be able to provide a preferential shipping quote.
