Antique French trumeau mirror that was hand-made during the mid to late-1800’s and miraculously still wears its original paint and gilding. However, the same cannot be said for the mirror, for it was definitely replaced and we are so-so on the painting. Although the trumeau’s painting is very old, we think it pre-dates the trumeau and are not sure it is original to the trumeau. Trumeau mirrors were created during the late 1700’s and were typically used over a fireplace mantel or between two windows.
