A very fine French 19th century Louis XVI style hand cream painted and carved pair of two bergeres or armchairs in original diamond cut fabric in very good condition as well as of high quality! The finely carved frames, padded arm supports and seats, with ribbon tied flower-head cresting and leaf tipped borders. Paris, circa 1860-1870. The beautifully painted cream and giltwood frames crisply carved with beading, stylised petals and acanthus leaves, on turned and fluted supports, upholstered in original beautiful cut velvet upholstery. Bought in the west of France. There is a sofa and two side chairs that match that may also be purchased separately.
