An Exceptional Early Small Moser Snake Vase, the glass is a hot applied blue over a greeny brown glass body -the blue forming a thick top rim with trailing ‘drips’ and then two dots (to the sides) and front and back two curled body comical snakes with open mouths. The vase is also covered, almost smothered, with one of the most famous and finest Moser enamelling patterns featuring heavy gilding and polychrome flowers and bugs including a variety of stylised butterflies, bees and beetles -in oranges pinks, greens blues and reds. The overall effect is amazing, A pattern that is rarely seen.
Moser is one of the greatest Bohemian glass makers of all time and in 2017 celebrated its 160th anniversary.
