Folk Art Hand Hooked rug with chickens, circa 1880, with two grey chicks standing on black and tan patches (respectively) on a white ground, separated by a double chevron band of multicolored triangles, within a barred or dental border. A very folky and very funky whimsical hooked rug; hand hooked wool rag on burlap backing, edge bound and mounted on a fibercore backboard and wired for hanging.
The rug is in very good condition with just a couple of minor pulls around the edges.
