Large Pendant Light by Henri Petitot for Atelier Petitot, France, 1929

The large ceiling lamp by the PETITOT workshops, Paris, designed by Henri Petitot, is highly decorative and emits indirect light. ART – DECO, in keeping with the taste of its time, in a cubist, geometric structure, the chandelier also illuminates large rooms. Apparently, the lamp was newly nickel-plated in the metal assembly about 30 years ago, the surface appears almost flawless, the wiring was professionally renewed and now the Petitot chandelier shines festively again and decorates the room. The previous owners had bought the chandelier from a specialist shop in Berlin. The surface of the original glass resembles the ray skin that was so popular in the 1920s and gives a very special impression. The original glass assembly is extremely rare in these lights.

Light traces of wear. Our Petitot workshops, Paris around 1929 pendant lamp is still equipped with the original glass. Following the taste of the time, the lamp shows cubist elements in its structure, the indirect downward radiation is filtered through the elaborately designed, original glass, a clear glass with opaline overlay with iridescent metal oxide vaporization. The 8 burners with B 20 sockets provide sufficient light, lamps with LEDs are now also available in dimmable form from specialist retailers.
