Liza Minnelli and Halston had a special and enduring friendship. In a Women’s Wear Daily interview following Halston’s death, Minnelli said, “He was like a big brother to me and a lot of women. Remember his quote, ‘You are only as good as the people you dress?’ Well, he dressed some great people and he had some great, great friends.”
