Elegant Louis XVI style desk made by Paul Sormani (1817-1877). Made of veneered wood and gilt bronze sheathed on top of a patiné havane leather. Molded and decorated on all sides with rich gilt bronze ornamentation, it contains a large drawer adorned with a frieze of interlacing wheat and flowers, in the style of Riesener. The set rests on four fluted legs, which end in bronze sabot.
