A most unusual Victorian novelty spoon warmer in the form of a sauce or gravy boat.
The warmer stands on three handsome legs leading down to Lion’s paw feet.
The hinged lid is beautifully engraved and the rim with a traditional beaded edge, this opens to reveal a platform in the interior under which the spoon would sit with the handle protruding from the spout.
Unmarked dating to c.1880 in excellent condition. Measures 7 1/2″ handle to spout; the lid 4″ at widest and standing 5 1/4″ tall to top of handle.
