Carlo Nason. Born in Murano (Venice) in 1935, he grew up frequenting the glass masters who worked in the family furnace. His culture appropriates the most refined techniques of the island’s glassmaking tradition. More than fifty years of association with this material have earned him a great deal of experience, so much so as to push him to turn his attention to modern design. His glasses have been chosen to be exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and at the Galleries Difference in Paris.

The roots of Mazzega1946 sink into Murano, a land of master glassmakers who still today preserve the centuries-old techniques of hand-crafting glass. In over seventy years the company has revived and reinterpreted the Murano heritage with passion and tenacity, without betraying its origins and inviting international designers with heterogeneous expressive languages to adopt those alchemies of sands, oxides and dusts.

Mazzega1946 today addresses a global niche market, offering lighting products that last over time, faithful to the tradition of the island, exploring innovative and contemporary contents.
