\n John Higlii, 1943-2017 “The Holy Grail” <\/p>\n

Composed of transparent oil on canvas, unsigned, gallery wrapped canvas. <\/p>\n

Vivid colors of orange, green, red, maroons, all overlap and tint to form different hues in a prismatic line drawn composition. Architectural in form. <\/p>\n

John Hiigli was an abstract geometric painter and co-founder \/ co-director of Le Jardin a l’Ouest (the French-American preschool). He attended the University of Indiana in the early 1960s, the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture in the mid-1960s sixties, Empire State College in the mid-1980s and Bank Street Graduate School of Education in the late 1980s. <\/p>\n

Hiigli’s transfixing geometric paintings synthesize the teachings of Jean Piaget and Richard Buckminster Fuller. He endeavors “to create certain images of totality, images that are optical and energetic—not a ‘signal’ or transmitter, or point of reception of ‘something else’—but objects, states of mind, visions that stand for what they are in and of themselves.”<\/p>\n
