We are delighted to offer for sale this exceptional set of six French oak with Embossed pressed brown leather upholster Henry II circa 1880 dining chairs with bronze dolphin handles<\/p>\n

A very rare and totally original set of Victorian dining chairs. They have the original distressed and heavily worn upholstery which has been embossed with lovely detail to the back and base. The studs are sublime, over sized and very detailed, the brass handles depict Victorian interpretations of dolphins, on top you find hand carved Lions mains, very nice <\/p>\n

In terms of the condition we have cleaned waxed and polished them from top to bottom, there are good honest signs of patina all over from century’s of use, structurally they are sound<\/p>\n

As mentioned the leather is original, it has ware and patina marks all over as you would expect from hide 140+ years old. The bases are coil-sprung with the original horse hair padding<\/p>\n

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.<\/span><\/p>\n
